Slag-off from ingot caster

Slag-off from ingot caster
Product Detailed
Anber's casting machine specially designed for ingots production.

I. ApplicationAfter it is refined, the molten aluminium is tapped into refractory lined ladles. The aluminium is then teemed (poured) into a series of ingot molds. After the ingots solidify, the ingot molds are stripped and the ingots are placed in soaking pits for heating and to equalize the internal and external temperature. Following the soak, the ingots are hot rolled in large primary rolling mills to produce slabs, blooms, or billets depending on the final products desired.

II. Main part of casting machineIngot casting machine to carry 120 moulds on a chain center of 160mm, sprocket centers of 8960mm and overall length 10485mm.

1. Drive unit:The prime mover is 4.0kw motorised helical gear unit shaft mounted to head shaft of conveyor. The speed of the conveyor is controlled via an invertor variable speed drive mounted in a cabinet adjacent to the machine.

2. Mould pre-heating:Two rows of natural draught gas burners or propane are fitted under the machine to dry and preheat the moulds. Each bar is fitted with a thumb cock for individual control. The manifold also has a valve.

3. Cooling:6 spray pipes are positioned over the moulds to spray water onto the open face of the ingot. Two pipes are fitted inside the machine to spray water onto the backs of the empty returning moulds. Each pipe is fitted with a gate valve for individual control. The manifold is fitted with a main shut-off valve and drain tap. A tray is fitted under the machine to catch excess water and direct to the drain.

4. Pouring:A single spouted pouring bowl is mounted on one side of the machine. It is mechanically driven and automatically pours ingots as the moulds pass. The bowl has to be lined with refractory material by customer.

5. Knockout:Twin cast iron hammers are mounted over the sprockets at the discharge end of the machine. They are mechanically actuated from the head shaft and strike each mould as it passes. A curved retaining plate holds the mould back against the sprockets. As the moulds pass the end of the plate they swing forward and strike a knockout roller, stopping the moulds abruptly and ejecting the ingot.

6. Discharges:The ingots are discharged direct into customer's bins for cooling and stacking by hand.120 hematite cast iron moulds with dovetail fitting for sliding into mould carriers. Each producing a 12-15kg aluminium based ingot to your existing approval.
